A spacious and social kitchen with statement floating style cabinetry was the vision for this sleek modern new kitchen and entertainment unit we constructed in Nedlands. Our clients were seeking a versatile open plan design where they could gather with family and friends for entertaining, family home life and mid-week meals.
A star feature in this design is the bespoke floating cabinetry wall that showcases the luxury double Smeg oven combo. This wall, and throughout this kitchen design, there is a beautiful display of symmetrical features which really showcases the rich caramel woodgrain of the Polytec Notaio Walnut laminate.
To create the floating effect throughout the kitchen we have framed the contrasting Crisp White Legato overhead cupboards with the Notaio Walnut laminate. This creates a seamless flow of the woodgrain to the top and also below throughout the kickboards. To create the illusion of floating benchtops we have constructed the kitchen island with a negative detail around the island sides.
The island in this kitchen has specifically been designed for our clients to be a long continuous benchtop to be used as a dining table for Tapas style meals and entertaining. A big family tradition in this home is pasta making and this island layout was considered as the right workspace for rolling long sheets of pasta.
The benchtops in this kitchen are Caesarstone Organic White 4600. The stylish waterfall edge on the island creates interest and showcases the warm earthy tones of this selection that pairs beautifully with the textural woodgrain of the walnut cabinetry.
