Balcatta
This modern, contemporary kitchen we completed for Webb & Brown-Neaves in Balcatta is striking and stylish, making a solid statement in the downstairs living area of this home. It is an eye-catching design that uses colour, texture, and shapes to create impact. Read on as we take you through the design details and product selections chosen for this modern kitchen.
CABINETRY DESIGN & COLOURS
Tall cabinetry design using Polytec Black Ply and Plantation Ash creates a beautiful contrast with light and dark and warm and cool tones throughout this kitchen. Both selections feature woodgrain structures when you look at them, and the Woodmatt finishes also deliver a subtle woodgrain texture.
Colour has been thoughtfully used in this kitchen design to create impact. The Black Ply cabinetry is used on the rear wall of cabinetry and paired with the black oven stack, induction cooktop, rangehoods, floating shelves, black sink and tapware. The Caesarstone Raven benchtop in this zone is also a dark smokey-slate grey.
The kitchen island design combines Black Ply cabinetry with Caesarstone Fresh Concrete mineral benchtops. The stark contrast of black and white is balanced by a beautiful combination of woodgrain and concrete textures.
2025 KITCHEN TRENDS
This kitchen brings together some of the most innovative trends in kitchen design right now. The kitchen island makes a statement with its stone-wrapped waterfall end and cantilever-style design, creating a dedicated seating zone.
Twin black circular rangehoods contrast against the sharp lines of this kitchen and become a feature in their own right. Curves have been a huge part of kitchen design for a few years now, and these statement appliances are a brilliant way to embrace this trend. The floating shelves in this kitchen design replace what would traditionally be overhead cupboards and are also finished with a stylish curved end.
Cleverly concealed behind custom cabinetry design is an integrated fridge/freeze, dishwasher and integrated waste bin. This kitchen organises the twin Bosch ovens, combination microwave oven and matching coffee machine in a modern oven stack design. Oven stacks are popular in contemporary kitchen designs for their more convenient height when cooking and lifting heavy and hot dishes.
