Landsdale
The client brief for this stylish kitchen renovation we completed for Mark & Tamara in Landsdale was to help them redesign a more functional kitchen design better suited their cooking styles and family home life in their forever home of 20 years.
Their old white kitchen was tired and dated. Our brief was to create a new kitchen that included more bench space, more storage, concealed appliances; and was more social when entertaining. A more contemporary kitchen design with the latest colours, features and trends, and that also improved the presentation of a circular structural roof column that couldn’t be removed as part of this kitchen renovation.
An Earthy Colour Scheme
Having previously had a white kitchen; Tamara was inspired by a warm earthy palette of colours. The cabinetry selections in this kitchen are Polytec Forage VENETTE and Notaio Walnut Woodmatt. The Forage VENETTE offers a striking mid-tone khaki green and is luxury in it’s appearance with it’s pure matt finish and fingerprint resistant surface which is perfect for the handleless overhead cabinetry
It’s paired with Notaio Walnut which delivers a caramel toned woodgrain pattern with grey-brown highlights and has a fine textured surface. The kitchen benchtops and stone splashback are Caesarstone Attera Blanca which has a misty white base and soft veins throughout.
Key Design Elements
The cabinetry design includes a combination of handleless overhead cupboards with feature open shelving and wide banks of drawers underneath that have long graphite handles to make opening the drawers easier. Custom cabinetry design conceals their luxury Sub Zero fridge/freezer and includes an appliance cupboard for easy storage of everyday items such as your coffee machine and toaster.
The new island design for this kitchen renovation completely transforms the appearance and usability of the kitchen island in this home. To conceal the structural column we have encased it in a rectangular tall cabinetry design feature that runs floor to ceiling through the islands waterfall edge. The island now also includes an upstand design with seating, an integrated wine fridge, concealed storage, double waterfall stone edges and a creative colour application of laminate and stone.
Inside the cabinetry in this kitchen we have also included a fully integrated dishwasher, Hafele Le Mans Corner Unit and waste bin and a custom pantry design combining the Hafele tandem pantry with cabinetry drawers matched to Mark and Tamara’s storage needs. Wide banks of drawers through the centre of this kitchen improve storage capacity with widths and drawer heights customised to their kitchenware.
